Characters- Lupin III, Arséne Lupin II, Daikichi, Kyohei Jin, fake cop, Ms. K, the Inspector, various cops

Synopsis- Lupin the Second has escaped from prison, and he's gonna collect his inheritance. However, he thinks that his son is dead, and that Lupin III is an imposter.

Review- The Young Lupin arc ends with a bang-er-crash, actually. But, before that, Lupin's gotta deal with his dad trying to kill him. The story has some funny moments, and great action throughout. Also the story takes a nice turn near the end. This plus a painful (as in "Ow.") ending makes this another great ending to the arc. 10/10

Notes- Lupin the Second appears again in Chapter 90, "Cue the Trouble"

Chapter 41-"Head Like a Scroll"

Characters- Lupin, Goemon, Fujiko, Goemon's master, assassins

Synopsis- Lupin's after the Jito sword scrolls, but Goemon's not gonna let him have 'em.

Firsts- First appearance of the Jito scrolls.

Links to animated Lupin- Lupin training was used in "A Wolf Calls a Wolf" of the first TV series

Review- First story of the Jito arc. Great action scenes at the beginning made better by Monkey Punch's detailed artwork. The backgrounds are all nice, along with several amusing moments, such as Lupin's training session. 9/10

Chapter 42-"Testing One Two Three"

Characters- Lupin, Goemon, Fujiko, applicants

Synopsis- Lupin's now trying to get the scrolls by competing like everyone else.

Firsts-

Links to animated Lupin- This episode partially became "A Wolf Calls A Wolf"

Review- It just keeps getting better. This one's mostly comedy, and succeeds. The verbal exchange between Lupin & Fujiko, as well as the painful finale are all well drawn and well written. 9/10

Chapter 43-"A Day Without Killing"

Characters- Lupin, Goemon, Goemon's masters, Lupin's girl

Synopsis- Goemon's masters have assigned him to kill Lupin. However, Lupin's taking the day off.

Firsts-

Links to animated Lupin- Goemon does the same thing to Lupin's car in "A Wolf Calls A Wolf"

Review- A very amusing little chapter. Goemon's various attempts on Lupin's life brought a smile to my face. All I can say is 10/10

Notes-End of the Jito arc, and Goemon finally joins the team, for now.

Chapter 44-"Smile for the Machine Gun"

Characters- Lupin, a woman, a producer, Zenigata, henchmen

Firsts- First appearance of Zenigata since "Tough Love"

Review- Lupin's gotta put up with a lot. A good story with some good twists and plenty of comedy, including a look into Lupin's imagination. 9.5/10

Chapter 45-"Behind Every Bad Man..."

Characters- Lupin, Bar patrons

Synopsis- Lupin's search for a woman with some stolen gold takes him to a bar...

Firsts-

Review- Lupin's narrating his story like a detective movie. Nice touch. The story is an average mix of comedy and action, with a fight scene and some funny lines. Nothing special, just 7/10

Notes-

Chapter 46"-Books that go Boom"

Characters- Lupin, Momochi, Goemon, Fujiko, Jigen, a doctor

Synopsis- Lupin';s hired Fujiko to get Momochi's alchemy formula.

Firsts- First appearance of Jigen since "Double the Pleasure"

Links to animated Lupin- Momochi was Goemon's master and the villain of "The Coming of Goemon XIII" of the first series

Review- Not much here in story or characters (Fujiko's not acting realistically), but the action scenes between Lupin and Goemon are really good. The sexual comedy kinda falls flat but the physical comedy more than makes up for it. 7.5/10

Notes- Goemon is back to being a villain

--

Chapter 47-"One Bullet Wonder"

Characters- Lupin, Fujiko, Hellraiser Santa, Goemon, Boss, Tome, Sandpaper Joe, Goemon's men

Synopsis- Lupin, Fujiko, and a bunch of other guys are inside a cabin hiding from Goemon because Lupin's got the alchemy formula.

Firsts-

Review- Goemon';s still against Lupin, however, the art is actually getting better with each chapter (I didn't think it was possible either), but the story's nothing to write home about, except the ending. I give &"One Bullet Wonder" a hearty "Meh" and a 7/10.

Chapter 48-"The Dream Sequence"

Characters- Lupin, Fujiko, Jigen, Monkey Punch

Synopsis- Lupin has an erotic dream where he rips Fujiko's skin off? Then a bunch of weird stuff happens...

Firsts- First time Monkey Punch shows his face outside of the first chapter

Links to animated Lupin-

Review- Man, I love this one. Not as much action this time around, but the laughs just keep on comin'. There's nothing not to like about this one: sex, some gunplay, Lupin beating up Monkey Punch...10/10

Notes-MP was also a main character in Chapter 16-"Lupin III: behind the Manga".
